June2010 - Number of Repossessions Fall
Recent data published by the Ministry of
Justice and the Council of Mortgage Lenders suggests that the
combination of low interest rates, early signs of an economic
recovery coupled with a number of government measures introduced
has resulted in a further decrease in the number of properties
repossessed in the first three months down to 9,800 representing
a drop of a quarter in comparison to the same period in 2009.
Early indications are that this trend is
likely to improve over the next quarter with the private sector
gaining momentum with the probability of interest rates
remaining at 0.5% indefinitely.
May 2010 - Property Confidence Moves Into
positive
According to the latest research undertaken
by the RICS, the balance between negative and positive responses
amongst Surveyors for commercial property has reached positive
levels for only the second time in two years.
Demand has also reached the highest figures
in the last two years. On the down side, rental levels continue
to decline although this is now showing.
Whilst the market is improving from previous
levels, Vendors and Landlords are still having to offer
competitive terms.
